Events I’m looking forward to at the 2015 Manila International Book Fair

September 16 marks the beginning of the Manila International Book Fair at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. So many events are happening all through the 5-day Fair, but here are a few that I’m personally looking forward to.

Scholastic Philippines has 2 events happening simultaneously:

Goosebumps Poster - FINAL geronimo stilton MIBF - FINAL

I read a lot of Goosebumps back in elementary school, so I’m really interested to see what Scholastic has cooked up for this event! Geronimo Stilton is of course, too kiddie for me now, but fans of the books will surely enjoy meeting the characters and having their books…autographed! ^_^ And even if you haven’t read them yet, I’m sure if you’re in the venue along with your kids then, they would still have fun seeing the characters.

Poster - Kiera Cass 2015 Kiera Cass is also back in the Philippines for the 2nd time, after her 1st successful (and ear-splitting-screams-filled) signing.

With “The One” and “The Heir” published, fans can now have their complete The Selection series books signed! Only if you buy them from National Book Store and Powerbooks, of course. šŸ˜‰

Keira’s MIBF signing is also on Sunday, but there are 200 slots only. Registration starts at 10am.

Visprint Publishing is holding signings for their authors on Sept. 17th, from 12:00nn – 5:00pm. Hopefully, the awesome #romanceclass people will all be there!

And the much-awaited sequel to Si Janus Silang at ang Tiyanak ng Tabon will first appear at MIBF!

Edgar Calabia Samar will be signing books at the Adarna House booth starting at 2pm on Sept. 20.

The Janus Silang series is a super fun (and educational!) re-telling of some Filipino myths for young adults. It’s written in Filipino, which makes it accessible to more local readers, and should entice more young Filipinos to read. It’s already got quite a following, and rightly so!
